Star-Traxx™ is a very flexible system that makes use of a GPS with an integrated radio that can send and receive messages from the INMARSAT satellite network. It can be as simple as putting the unit on your car and plugging it into 12V DC. At this point it will start to transmit once an hour, it has our standard configuration installed.

Using the optional programming cable you can download different configurations to your computer. You then transfer the program to your Star-Traxx™ for the new program to take effect. For a nominal fee to cover the airtime costs of the satellite, you can also download the programs directly from your account on this site to your Star-Traxx™ remote, or email us and we can do it for you. You may specify the configuration that you would like installed on your unit at the time you place the order, or you may change them at any time. The following configuration files are available:

• Trip&Rally - The Star-Traxx™ unit will detect when you have moved 250 meters and then send in a report. It will continue to send a report in once per hour unless you are stoped. If you stop for more than about 20 minutes the unit will quit sending reports and wait for you to start moving again. If you have the optional Star-Traxx cable with the push-button and LED then you can also initiate a special report at the push of the button. This special report can be handled as another waypoint, or as a special alarm that causes an e-mail to be sent where ever you like or a 911 call to be made.
• OnDemand - Using this program the Star-Traxx™ unit requires the use of the optional cable containing the push-button and LED. When you push the button a report will be sent with your current position and speed. If you press and hold the button a special report will be sent that you can determine the action to be taken as above.
• GeoFence - By selecting an area either circular, or rectangular on our web based maps, you can determine an operating area that is of interest. You then determine if you want to be notified if the unit enters or leaves this area. This can be used as an alarm in case your vehicle leaves an area, or notification that the vehicle is arriving in the area.
• 1 hour reporting - This program will report once per hour as long as the unit is turned on and in view of the satellite.
• If you are authroized by the account holder of the Star-Traxx™ unit, you will have the ability to initiate a position request using the web interface. A special message is sent via the satellite to the unit and the unit will respond with its current possition. A special charge of $0.25 is applied for the satellite airtime. It will take approximately 2 to 6 minutes for the position to be reported.
• Alarm report that transmits when ever a switch, or contact is closed. This may be used to deterime when and where a truck is loaded or un-loaded.
